Spikenard has been prized for healing in skin care. It is helpful for allergic skin reactions and all kinds or rashes.  Being balancing floral water, it can be used in skin care preparations for all types of skin particularly valuable for mature skin.  Its redresses the skin physiological balance and causes permanent regeneration. It is described that Spikenard as warming, drying and diuretic and good for inflammation of all kinds and for dispersing accumulated toxins. It is antifungal floral water, it might be worth trying Spikenard for the treatment of cellulite, as it is diuretic and detoxifying, but also because it is a deeply relaxing hydrosols. It may help hormone imbalances, sometimes associated with cellulite. It is certainly a wonderful for anybody tense, anxious, and has the ability, to help people emotional blocks.

Spikenard is a soft, aromatic herb with a strongly pungent rhizome root. It is native to the mountainous regions of Northern India, as well as China and Japan. Spikenard has also been known as “nard” and “false Indian Valerian root” essential oil.It was prized in early Egypt and in the Middle East during the time of our Savior. 

This is a rare and costly fragrant oil, and was used by Mary of Bethany to anoint the head and feet of the Messiah two days before His death, “Then Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.” It speaks of the Bride’s extravagant adoration of & intimacy with the Bridegroom, in total abandonment, without regard to cost. We call Spikenard "The Fragrance of the Bride" for it symbolizes the bride who has made herself ready, as is written in Song of Solomon "While the king sits at his table, my spikenard sends forth its fragrance."

Spikenard is highly regarded in India as a perfume, medicinal herb, and skin tonic. In ancient times, it was the one of the most precious oils used only by priests, kings, or high initiates. References in the New Testament describe how Mary of Bethany used a salve of spikenard to anoint the feet of Jesus before the Passover.

Spikenard is helpful in the treatment of allergic skin reactions and skin cancer. It may also help with allergies, Candida, indigestion, insomnia, menstrual difficulties, migraines, nausea, rashes, bacterial infections, stress, tachycardia, tension, and wounds that will not heal.

Spikenard offered is pale yellow in color and has warm, misty and heavy aroma. Medium in viscosity, it blends well with Lemon, Lavender Clary sage and other oils. Some of the applications these are used in include tension, migraine, stress, nervous indigestion & insomnia. 

Benefit & Uses: Coated with clean cotton, or sprayed on the body or face for toner or moisture water. Or you can add into some of the skincare bases, such as Aloe Vera gel, cream, body lotion, eye cream, facial cleanser, bath liquid, shampoo, hair conditioner and others water base products. You also can be added to or mixture of other different Hydrosol, to make your own moisturizing beauty water.

For rough or wrinkled skin, try diluting a few drops of Spikenard with olive oil and apply as a natural moisturizer. Blend 50% Spikenard essential oil with 50% olive oil and apply on location for hemorrhoids.

For help with cholesterol, apply 2-4 drops of Spikenard on wrists, inside elbows, or at the base of the throat two or three times daily. To soothe the tummy, apply a few drops of Spikenard oil on the stomach for indigestion or nausea. Wear a couple drops of Spikenard oil as perfume and/or use as a deodorant.
